Government

Cervia is led by one political party: Cerviyskaya Partiya Spravedlivosti (Cervian Social Justice Party), ever since the constitution was changed in 2280. The structure is split into two different houses: The House of Federations (upper house) and the State Council (lower house). In 2280, Premier Ivan Gulan was declared Premier for Life, and he remains as such to this day.

Terrain and Climate

Cervia is Elaria's northern neighbor, and controls the entire continent of Gea after the Great War several hundred years ago. Because of the vastness of the country, nearly every kind of climate, except for tropical, can be found here. From massive forests to roaming plains to barren tundra, the country is too diverse to be labeled by any single category.

History

For hundreds of years, Cervia was controlled by a theocratic and monarchy alliance, with a Grand Visar and the King or Queen co-ruling the land. Then in the year 1104, King (or Tsar) Cerdrick the IV successfully changed the constitution to have just one ruler, namely himself, and made the government secular, effectively kicking the Cervian Orthodoxy out of politics. The rift between the Cervian Orthodoxy and the Cervian Kingdom continued until 1429, when a revolution among the population overthrew the kingdom and changed Cervia into a republic. Theories of the revolution being pushed by the Orthodoxy are unfounded.

During the Great War (1922 to 1929), Cervia made an offensive push onto smaller countries in the Gea continent, and the years 1925 to 1927 were times of violent strife as Cervia went against one of Alika's major powers, Cecil, which eventually turned in a war between Cervia and all of the pre-Natherican nations. After the Alikan nations retreated, Cervia conquered over most of Gea, and their hold on the huge lands continues to this day.

Cervian Interpol

While the term 'Interpol' generally means an international law enforcement organization, Cervian Interpol is the Cervian government's version of the Bureau of Internal Investigations. Just like the Bureau, Interpol has agents worldwide, hunting after terrorists, drug lords, and other special-case criminals that are deemed a threat to Cervian security. However, they are also a spy agency, and have done their share of corrupt deals with the very people they are supposed to hunt after, if only for the benefit of Cervia.

Spetsnaz

The Cervian branch of the CMF is the Cervian Imperial Forces, but its most feared unit is Spetsnaz. Although the Cervian government is largely corrupt and much of its social infrastructure is decayed due to budget cuts and neglect, Spetsnaz remained one of the most modernly equipped and best trained special forces units in the entire CMF.
